Bill Figenshu – President/CEO
Bill Figenshu is the President/CEO of Figmedia1 LLC. Formed in July 2005, Figmedia1 is the first (and only) company created to take advantage of the emerging trends in broadcasting. Consisting of four separate yet, related disciplines, FigMedia1 offers guidance and strategic planning in Cluster & Station Operations, Broadcast Branding, Talent Development, and Company Creation, to companies and individuals within the broadcast industry. He is also the President of Station Development and Operations for Peak Broadcasting. Serving Fresno California and Boise Idaho, Peak Broadcasting LLC, is a "new generation" radio broadcaster formed in 2006 to super serve local, growing communities throughout the western US.
Bill Figenshu was a Regional President of Citadel Broadcasting. A position he held thru July 2005. He was responsible for the operations and strategy of 70+ medium market radio stations. Initially assigned to "fix the West" by the chairman, in 2004 his region achieved record revenues and cash flow, outpacing the industry by 8 times. All increases in revenue were organic from existing platforms (the same radio stations). In 19 months his markets became Citadel's leading region in growth, cash flow and margins. This performance continues in 2005.
A 34-year veteran of the broadcast industry, "Fig" was the Senior Vice President of CBS/Infinity Broadcasting, one of the leading Broadcast & Outdoor companies in the United States. He was responsible for radio stations in Detroit, Atlanta, Tampa, Philadelphia, Houston, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Dallas, Sacramento, San Jose, Phoenix, Fresno, and Riverside San Bernardino. He held this position from October of 1998 to July 2003.
In 2001, 2002 and 2003 he was named one of the Top 40 Most Influential people in radio. (Radio Ink)
From July 1997 until September of 1998 he was Senior VP of Chancellor Media (Now Clear Channel) and was one of four executives hired to develop the company from various radio companies acquired by Evergreen Media. His experience includes day-to-day operations in virtually every top 50 market in the United States.
For twelve years Fig was President of Viacom Radio, a unit of Viacom International. He developed the company from scratch creating radio stations such as KYSR Los Angeles (Star 98.7), KBSG Seattle, KNDD Seattle (The End), WMZQ Washington, D.C., KIKK-FM-AM Houston, WLIT Chicago and WLTW (LITE FM), still New York and America's most listened to radio station. From a 150 Million dollar investment Viacom sold the company in 1997 for 1.1 Billion dollars. The most money ever paid for seven FM stations at the time. Along the way Viacom Radio was honored as one of America's most admired radio companies for three years running.
He has served on the board of directors of the NAB, RAB, and The Country Radio Seminar.
In his earlier career Fig was a programmer and student of marketing
Re-inventing and developing radio formats. He re-invented and developed marketing concepts for Soft AC, Country, Alternative Rock, Oldies and most recently concepts for Talk and All News Radio.
Earlier still he was a progressive rock disc jockey, top 40 jock, Country radio morning guy, and Radio Station Program Director.
An expert of broadcast branding and marketing, Fig has developed audio/video concepts that have stood the test of time. Participating in the launch of 4 public companies over the last 10 years, gives him a unique perspective on value generation. His track record for successful asset creation is unblemished.
